Oak Knoll Park Concert: Griffin & the Gargoyles
September 24 @ 4:30 pm - 7:00 pm
Many of us enjoy outdoor concerts in the summer, and one of the loveliest settings for such a soirée is the charming and tranquil Oak Knoll Park in Clayton.
Concerts are held there on the fourth Sunday of each month from June to September. Bands play on the limestone stage next to the pond with the fountain on the south end, near Clayton Road.
Griffin & the Gargoyles will perform from 5:00-7:00 PM on Sunday, September 24. The When it proclaimed G&G “The Best Cover Band” in all the land, Riverfront Times credited their genre-blurring capability with making the group such a dependable cover band. For weddings, the groups can dust off Sam Cooke and Stevie Wonder. Weekend crowds can expect everything from Flo Rida’s “Low” to the Commodores’ “Easy,” all performed faithfully and exuberantly.
Let’s spend a sublime Sunday evening dining, dancing, and relaxing to the music of Griffin and the Gargoyles!
ADMISSION, SEATING, FOOD: The concert will be free. Bring a lawn chair or blanket, and look for us by the pond with the fountain, near the intersection of Big Bend and Clayton Road. We will arrive a bit early to snag a good spot.
DIRECTIONS & PARKING: The park entrance is on the west side of Big Bend, between Clayton Road and Forsyth. After you enter, drive a short distance and stay right at the fork. Park in the lot and head south (follow the path between the two white buildings). Ahead, you will see the pond with the fountain.
RSVP: The RSVP feature on the event page works quite well, so use it to indicate whether or not you will join us.
“Yes” = you will attend.
“No” = you will not (no explanation needed).
See you there!
