Willow 843 Upshur St. NW Willow stocks just a little bit of everything. A lovely boutique that’s off the beaten path, it carries everything from clothing and housewares to handmade jewelry and accessories by local DC artisans. The clothing lines designed by some of Willow’s very own staff are casual, trendy, and cheerful as well. From handmade dresses to soft pashminas and even gifts for the little ones, the store’s racks are all color-coded making it easy to browse for that special piece as well.
Violet Boutique 3289 M St. NW The perfect work or weekend outfit is under Violet Boutique’s roof – and everything is under $200. Owner Julie Egermayer wanted to keep the store reasonably priced, but also offer shoppers considerable bang for the buck. As a result, everything from dresses, jackets, tops, and purses can be found here to help you go from day to night with a little added flair. Violet has also started selling gold and precious stone accessories from LA-based jewelry maker Lili Klein.
Ella-Rue 3231 P St. NW Ella-Rue carries consignment clothing ranging from classics to couture to current top designers, from Elie Saab to Zac Posen and beyond. Shoppers can browse their large inventory online before committing to a purchase. The consignment shop carries designer purses, sunglasses, shoes, jewelry, and Parisian perfumes. Customers can buy directly or bid on certain higher-end items like a barely-used Birkin to boot.
MM. LaFleur 1424 K St. NW After eight successful pop-up shops around DC, MM. LaFleur has opened its very own storefront on K Street. The shop’s main goal is for it to be less of a browse-through experience and more of a more intimate experience with your own personal stylist. Visitors can book an appointment, fill out a brief questionnaire on their personal style, and (on arrival) a stylist will have your very own dressing room ready to go with pulled items just for you. And, for every item you love, the store will personally ship it to your home or office. Lots of the pieces are classic and versatile items that are made to last too. Women will leave the shop feeling confident and polished.
Upstairs on 7th

 

1299 Pennsylvania Ave NW Upstairs on 7th has a huge array of clothing, from comfy casual to to unique and cuttinge-dge. The store offers fun and feminine pieces like totes, jewelry, skirts and dresses with inventory changing weekly. Ricki Peltzman, the owner of the shop, calls herself the hostess and has no problem pouring guests some champagne as they shop around. Peltzman loves dressing her customers in outfits from designers like Ray Harris and Sissy Yates to boot.
Lynn Louisa 1631 Wisconsin Ave. NW Lynn Louisa is your one-stop shop for easy and fun basics, and  boasts some of the best denim lines around. The store has everything from bralettes to t-shirts and date night dresses for a night out on the town. Owner Gabby Klingman handpicks the boutique’s noteworthy brands like Ganni and Rachel Comey. Dominique Fierro, the other half of Lynn Louisa, partnered with Klingman and opened a studio in the upstairs of the boutique. She now sells art out of the storefront including paintings and photos and styles the store’s beautiful interiors.
Intermix 3300 M St. NW Intermix sells everything from cocktail dresses to workout gear. Its large inventory of accessories ranges from shoes to bags and belts to hats. Intermix also offers styling options on its website depending on the occasion and looks their shoppers may be going for. From feminine evening dresses to outfits that can help you keep it chic during the day, Intermix has something for everyone. Shoppers can browse its online look books to get a sneak peak, and with more than a hundred designers in stock, can expected to find everything from an Alexander Wang checkered bucket bag to Robert Clergerie Raffia platform sneakers.
Cusp

 

3030 M St. NW Cusp is a women’s boutique in an industrial setting selling contemporary, versatile pieces, and a Neiman Marcus concept shop. From bright, funky-patterned maxi dresses to color block bomber jackets, Cusp is the spot for women looking for poppy, fun pieces. Shoppers can even use their Neiman Marcus credit cards to make purchases at Cusp’s shop
Rent the Runway 3336 M St NW The e-commerce site Rent the Runway has its very own Georgetown location where shoppers can visit, try on clothes and accessories, and pay a rental fee for two or four days. RTR is great for women who don’t want to splurge on designer clothing, but still have the chance to keep give them a test drive. The storefront is a great way to get to try on the pieces before making the rental commitment. Clothing ranges from $50 to $1500. And don’t forget to rent those fabulous pair of shoes to go along with that designer outfit!
Marine Layer 1627 14th St. NW Marine Layer is known for its beautiful fabrics made from 100% recycled beechwood. With more than 25 custom fabrics offered, the shop’s clothes are hand-spun and made to please. The majority of its inventory comes from some of the best knits in the LA and SF areas, and ladies can shop for ultra-soft t-shirts, sweatshirts and much more. The shop also offers loungewear and swimwear from $40-$100 per piece. Note that Marine Layer offers a package deal (three items for only $100 bucks) on several of its softest tops as well.
