Sunday Shop Ride
June 17 @ 8:00 am
Event Navigation
This ride from Urban Shark Bicycles downtown is a bit longer and a bit more challenging than the Saturday ride. The ride starts and ends at the shop. It is a “no drop” ride with a ride leader. The route runs down Broadway to Telegraph and explores some hilly roads in and around Oakville and Arnold. It is a challenging ride and will help you test your meddle. There is an approximate map on the BigShark.com website, but the ride leader has the power to revise the route depending on the riders and other conditions.
Time: 8:00 a.m. roll out (no whining about the start time, take a nap in the dafternoon!)
Location: 1009 Locust Avenue, St. Louis, MO – roughly 10th and Locust
Route: Ride from the shop south to some hilly roads
Distance: Normally about 40 – 50 miles
Pace: Depends on who shows up. This is a no-drop ride.
Parking downtown is free on Sunday, but finding a place can be a challenge. There are also surface parking lots available at a price. Pricing can depend on events happening downtown. If you are willing to ride a few more miles, try parking around Lafayette Park in Lafayette Square. Parking is free and it adds a warm up and cool down ride of two miles on either end of the ride.
Check on events happening downtown and be flexible. Many running events start at the Soldier’s Memorial and other locations downtown. This can mess with which streets are open for driving. This can affect parking as well as traffic.
